Which part of Amed should I stay in?

How long should I stay in Amed?

Around 3-4 days is perfect for most people, though stayed for two weeks as we did a much longer trip. Still, that gives you enough time to check out different beaches, do some snorkeling, and just chill out. If you’re planning to take diving lessons, you might want to stay 5-7 days.

Is Amed worth the trip?

It really is! If you’re tired of busy tourist spots like Kuta, you’ll love Amed. It’s much more peaceful and authentic, with amazing snorkeling, beautiful views of Mount Agung, and lovely little fishing villages.

When’s the best time to visit Amed?

Try to visit between April and October – that’s when the weather’s best and the water’s clearest for snorkeling. Just keep in mind that July and August get pretty busy, so book your hotel early if you’re coming then.

How do I get to Amed from the airport?

It’s about a 3-hour drive from Denpasar airport. The easiest way is to book a transfer through your hotel or get a private driver. There isn’t much public transport, so it’s best to arrange your ride ahead of time.

There are some ATMs around, but they don’t always work great. It’s a good idea to get cash before you arrive in Amed. While bigger hotels take cards, you’ll want cash for local restaurants and shops.
