Sunset Beach
Budget Option
If you need a more budget-friendly option you must go a little further inland and check out Good Mood Resort. There are only a couple of options close to Sunrise Beach.
This two-star hotel has large rooms with a balcony and is only a two-minute walk from Sunset Beach making it a real option to be considered.
The resort has lush greenery and bright, airy rooms, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy watching spectacular sunsets each evening.

Mid Range Option
When we stayed in Koh Lipe, we chose the beautiful Bay View Resort which overlooks one of the island’s most popular beaches – Sunset Beach.
If I am honest, I will say it was a fantastic option for many reasons.
We could easily get down the wooden staircase to Sunset Beach in time to enjoy the daily sunset which lights up the sky over the Andaman Sea. This made life easier.
We could also stroll down to the beach after breakfast walk the long and beautiful coastline and jump into the sea for a quick dip before the day began.
Luxury Option
Another nice option with plenty of good reviews includes Bayview Hill Resort located just beside Bayview Resort. You can expect wonderful views down onto the beach and has a simple and elegant design.
You can even have breakfast on the beach as the clean water laps on the sand close to your feet.
North Point Beach
North Point Beach is where you can find many luxurious resorts which honestly look fantastic. But there are some more affordable options close by.
Budget option
It will be harder to find budget options at North Point Beach. This is because there are so many high-end resorts and it is the best beach on the island in my humble opinion.
You will need to walk from Sunrise Beach to get anywhere near the budget costs that you could typically expect elsewhere in Thailand.
Mid Range Options
Forra Dive Resort is a nice option and a good upgrade on some of the accommodations in the centre of the island and is only a 350-meter walk from North Point Beach.
This resort is perfectly situated for those interested in snorkelling, canoeing, or arranging scuba diving trips around Koh Lipe. Couples or solo travellers can enjoy a private bungalow just a short walk from the beach.
Luxury Options
The Zodiac Seesun Resort is just a few meters walk from the soft, white sandy beach. This area also is lucky because it is blessed with plenty of restaurants, meaning you can comfortably stay in this part of the island for your entire visit if you prefer.
I have to admit I felt jealous walking past this place each day we found ourselves on North Point Beach.
The rooms are cosy and have very modern interiors making it perfect for a couples retreat. And of course, you will be right beside what is my opinion the most beautiful part of the island.
But you can judge that for yourself once you get to Koh Lipe.
Another great option is Bulow Casa Grand View Resort.
If you want a luxurious getaway to the Maldives of Thailand then look no further than this epic accommodation.
Located at the northernmost point of the island, this resort offers top-class design and comfort. It even includes a swimming pool—perfect for those times when the sea just isn’t enough.
Again, this place would be ideal for couples, honeymooners or anybody who needs some luxury in their lives for a few days.
Mountain Resort Koh Lipe is another option to consider close to North Point Beach.
The reviews speak for themselves with almost 500 people rating it. 8.4 from 10. This place would be great for families as well as couples.
Modern design coupled with a wonderful location makes it one of the most sought-after places to stay in Koh Lipe.
If I revisit the island I would love to stay here.
Pattaya Beach
A great place to consider staying in Koh Lipe is Pattaya Beach.
First of all, this is where the ferry docks. You won’t have to travel far with your luggage. Even if you need to go a bit further, there are tuk-tuks lined up just outside the port. So, you don’t have to worry about dragging your bags all over the island.
Budget Options
The best option to consider if you are travelling on a budget is DAYA Beach, Lipe local.
Like most resorts on the island, it’s extremely close to the beach.
Again, if you’re lucky enough to land on the beach from the ferry, you can carry your bags a short distance down the shore, drop them in your room, and dive straight into the sea.
Mid Range Options
Those of you who prefer to travel in an eco-friendly way must consider Green View Beach Resort.
If you want a really nice beach hut experience then this could be a real option for you. You can even get snorkelling equipment and kayaks for free which is a nice plus.
This place has an 8.1 review from almost 500 people so it speaks for itself.
Luxury Options
Charming Lipe Beach Resort is a beachfront accommodation with a terrace and restaurant so you can eat while enjoying the magnificent view of Pattaya Beach and the sea.
One nice point to note is the accommodation’s proximity to Walking Street. This is where most of the action takes place. Bars, restaurants, massage, dive centres, pharmacies, and tour operators can be found dotted through Walking Street.
This means you can easily walk across and book your tours, get a massage or have a great meal.
Couples looking for a nice stay in Koh Lipe should consider Chareena Beachside.
Another of Pattaya Beaches’ fine resorts you will find yourself basically on the beach with many restaurant options and bars as well as getting a private beachfront bungalow.
Lastly, one fancy option to consider is AKIRA Lipe Resort.
This has one of the best reviews I could find and its easy to see why so many people found it a great place to stay.
Located only a few minutes stroll to Walking Street, includes a beachfront, 3 swimming pools, a garden and a gym there would be little reason to leave.
Sunrise Beach
This two-star hotel has large rooms with a balcony and is only a two-minute walk from Sunset Beach making it a real option to be considered.
Sunrise Beach is Koh Lipe’s second longest beach (only behind Pattaya Beach) and one of its most beautiful.
At its northern end, it merges into North Point Beach, making it an ideal spot for an early morning stroll. This walk often culminates in a breathtaking sunrise—a perfect way to start your day.
But for these reasons, it can be more pricey. Let me show you:
Idyllic Concept Resort sitting right down at the bottom of the beach is stunning. Like, really stunning.
Included is a pool bar and of course is not far at all from the sea. So you can switch between the two as you please.
Couples will LOVE it here according to the reviews and the images look absolutely magical. Modern and clean, you could even say Idyllic!
If you want a more affordable option you need to check out Kathalee Beach Resort & Spa.
Location wise it’s a dream. You can even get free shuttles to Walking Street from the hotel to make life easier. And you can get sea view rooms if you request them.
Further up the beach, you can find more affordable options. For example, Varin Village Koh Lipe is great for budget backpackers or people who just want to save on costs. That doesn’t mean you have to pay an arm and a leg to experience a sunrise at Sunrise Beach!
Keep in mind, of course, that you won’t get anything near the luxury as the hotels are further south on the beach.
Another more affordable mid-range option worth looking at is Lipe Power Beach Resort.
Smack bang in the middle of Sunrise Beach you will get a pool and modern design which won’t break the bank. But be aware roosters can alarm the locals early but this will help you rise for the sunrise.
Who needs technology?
Final Thoughts
Koh Lipe is truly magical. This perfect island paradise offers an ideal getaway for those seeking sun, sea, and sand. Its beaches and crystal-clear waters make it a haven for relaxation and adventure alike.
As you can see, there are many options for whatever budget you need. Backpacker, mid-range or luxury can be catered for.

FAQs
How many days should I spend in Koh Lipe?
You can spend up to 7 days at Koh Lipe to see it all and enjoy the experience in my view. There are plenty of beaches, snorkelling tours, amazing places to stay and fun bars to visit. So if you can get one week to stay you can get a full experience and enjoy the Maldives of Thailand as much as possible.
Is it worth going to Koh Lipe?
Absolutely! Koh Lipe is wonderful for many reasons. The crystal clear water and perfectly soft white sanded beaches attract people from all over the world. I spent an amazing 7 days on the island and wish I could have stayed longer. You will be sad to leave if you do get to visit this tropical haven. I recommend you do as many tours as you can to the surrounding National Park and rent a kayak to explore the smaller islands.
Is Koh Lipe too crowded?
When I visited Koh Lipe, the island was almost empty. We walked down walking street in the middle of September and we were the only people to see. That being said, the high season is from October until March so undoubtedly people will flock here during those months when the weather is better and more tour options are available. Depending on when you visit, it may be very crowded or totally empty.
